SÍNDROME DE BURNOUT EM PROFISSIONAIS DA ENFERMAGEM/BURNOUT SYNDROME IN NURSING PROFESSIONAL

Resumo

A Síndrome de Burnout é designada como aquilo que deixou de funcionar por exaustão energética, expresso por meio de um sentimento de fracasso, causado por um excessivo desgaste de energia e recursos que acomete geralmente os profissionais que trabalham em contato direto com pessoas debilitadas. A investigação ora apresentada teve por objetivo levantar na literatura cientifica estudos sobre a Síndrome de Burnout em profissionais de enfermagem. Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura de cunho descritivo e exploratório e teve como finalidade melhor analisar e descrever o tema pesquisado, onde se buscou produções cientificas no banco de dados Scielo (ScientificElectronic Library Online). Foram pesquisados 11 artigos científicos publicados entre 2003 e 2013. Os resultados foram apresentados em três categorias nominadas de: Fatores ocupacionais que ocasionam a síndrome de Burnout; Síndrome de Burnout no trabalhador de enfermagem e Tratamento e prevenção da Síndrome de Burnout. O estudo evidenciou que os mais atingidos pela Síndrome de Burnout são os profissionais da enfermagem, por estar sempre à margem das causas que predispõem diretamente ao surgimento desta patologia que são as altas demandas de trabalho, a carga horária excessiva, o estresse ocasionado pelo contato direto com o paciente e seu acompanhante e as múltiplas responsabilidades atribuídas ao profissional da enfermagem.

ABSTRACT

Burnout syndrome is designated as something that stopped working by energy exhaustion, expressed through a sense of failure, caused by excessive wear and tear of energy and resources that usually affects the professionals who work in direct contact with infirm people. The research presented here aimed at assessing the scientific literature studies on burnout syndrome in nursing professionals. This is a literature review of descriptive and exploratory nature and had the purpose to best analyze and describe the subject researched. The scientific productions analyzed have been sought in the Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) database. We have studied 11 scientific articles published between 2003 and 2013. The results have been presented in three categories, namely: occupational factors that cause burnout syndrome; burnout syndrome in the nursing professionals, and the treatment and prevention of burnout syndrome. The study showed that the most affected by burnout syndrome are the nursing professionals, for always being on the sidelines of the causes that predispose directly to the emergence of this disease, which are: the high demands of work, excessive workload, the stress caused by direct contact with the patient and his/her companion, and the multiple responsibilities assigned to the nursing professionals.
