NARRANDO DA BOCA PRA FORA: HISTÓRIAS, SIGNIFICAÇÃO E FILOSOFIA DA LINGUAGEM NA LEITURA DE BRUNER / RATING OF THE MOUTH TO OUT: STORIES, NAR MEANING AND PHILOSOPHY OF LANGUAGE IN READING BRUNER

Abstract

Disciplinas nascidas na contemporaneidade, como é o caso das análises de discurso, se apoiam, cada vez mais, no diálogo interdisciplinar com a sociologia, a antropologia e a psicologia social, buscando, nelas, subsídios para entender a emergência dos discursos nas interações sociais, e para dar conta de como esses discursos fazem sentido no interior de tais práticas linguístico-culturais. Neste ensaio, objetivo refletir acerca do trabalho do psicólogo social Jerome Brunner (1990), que explora a construção das narrativas cotidianas como uma prática cultural frequente e básica na vida humana. Crucialmente, busco explicitar as crenças sobre uso de linguagem e interpretação de discurso que subjazem ao seu trabalho, atribuindo-lhes certas adesões tácitas a posições caras às principais polêmicas sobre o sentido e apontando, ainda, as ascendências filosóficas de tais posições.

ABSTRACT

Disciplines associated to post-modern studies, such as different fields of discorse analysis, have been granting increasing importance to the interdisciplinary dialogue with sociology, anthropology and social psychology, in order to understand the emergence of discourse in social interactions and account for the way these discourses make sense in the interior of linguistic and cultural practices. In this essay, I aim to reflect on the work of the social psychologist Jerome Bruner (1990), which explores the emergence of oral narratives as a basic and frequent pratice of human culture. In particular, I aim to make explicit Bruner's underlying beliefs about language usage and discourse interpretation, revealing his tacit positions in the ongoing debate on the nature of meaning as well as identifying his philoshophical background.
