Abstract

ABSTRACT

The current economic scenario has required greater efforts on the part of industries in aspects that refer to sustainability. The adoption of sustainable practices in industrial production processes represents a management strategy that can add several economic benefits. In addition, the alignment of the management model with sustainable development objectives is currently considered an essential condition for the organization to obtain access to sources of financing at reduced costs, to have priority in public notices and to obtain international partners, whether for export. direct or indirect. It is understood that the advancement of emerging technologies, which encompass industry 4.0, represents a great potential for transformation for the industry in terms of productivity, cost reduction, process control, production customization, among other factors, which can contribute to sustainability and Green Manufacturing goals. In this sense, through a theoretical review, the present study aims to present and discuss some of the technologies that comprise the scope of Industry 4.0 and its potential relationship with the promotion of Green Manufacturing practices.
