EUTANÁSIA VOLUNTÁRIA: A MORTE COM DIGNIDADE / VOLUNTARY EUTHANASIA: DEATH WITH DIGNITY

Abstract

O presente artigo tem como objetivo investigar acerca da autonomia do paciente terminal para dispor da própria vida por meio da eutanásia, ante o princípio da dignidade da pessoa humana. Inicia-se a pesquisa com o estudo dos aspectos gerais da eutanásia tradicional: história, conceito, variantes e suas formas de execução. Num segundo momento, define-se morte encefálica e os princípios da autonomia e dignidade da pessoa humana. Por fim, busca-se esclarecer alguns aspectos éticos e jurídicos da Resolução 1.805/06 do Conselho Federal de Medicina, a qual dispõe sobre a prática da ortotanásia em pacientes terminais.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to investigate about the autonomy of the patient terminal to dispose of their own lives through euthanasia , against the principle of human dignity. Starts the search with the study of general aspects of traditional euthanasia: history, concept, and its variants forms of execution. Secondly, we define brain death and the principles of autonomy and dignity of the human person. Finally, we seek to clarify some ethical and legal aspects of Resolution 1.805/06 the Federal Medical Council, which regulates the practice of orthonasia in terminal patients.
