A piscicultura Amazônica - Uma análise sobre os processos de negócios da cadeia de suprimentos / Amazonian fish farming - An analysis of supply chain business processes
Abstract

ABSTRACT
Among aquaculture activities, fish farming has stood out in the Amazon, mainly in the state of Rondônia (RO), which leads the production of freshwater fish in Brazil. Considering this context, the present work analyzes the fish supply chain (CS) in Vale do Jamari-RO, understanding the organizations' roles in the CS business processes. The research used the case study method to understand these processes and identify the active agents, existing products and services. For this, 71 agents belonging to this chain were interviewed, making it possible to analyze the existing business processes. As a contribution, the study illustrates how business processes occur and discusses different aspects that influence them by comparing them with some relevant factors in the literature, such as demand, the time factor in the processes, the distribution network, the means of stock control, information flow, strategic objectives and performance management. Thus, for professionals involved in this business, in addition to the contribution illustrating the case, it is possible to perceive several actions that can improve management. For academics, the study indicates several possibilities for future research.
